It was a great weekend at the North Eastern Reined Cow Horse Alliance show this weekend at Fletcher's. Congratulations to Starr Boisvert and Clays Kid Olena on earning her first NRCHA pay cheque Saturday in the Limited Non-Pro boxing, placing first. Nicole Van Esch placed second and third in the Open Rookie boxing and first in the Open box and drive on Sunday on This Hick Smokes. Steve Close did well on his horse "Dexter", with placings of first, second, and thirds in the Limited Non-Pro boxing and Non-Pro box and drive classes. Greg took Clays Kid Olena in his first NRCHA Open class where he did very well in the reined and cow work. This Hick Smokes placed first with Greg both Saturday and Sunday in the Open and Limited Open. It was great to catch up with all of the competitors and thank you to Barb McCaughey, Mary Baks, and all of the other volunteers for putting on such a great show. More pictures to come. Looking forward to the next show in July!

We had a great time with the ranch riding clinic today, despite the unexpected winter temperatures. Everyone worked hard and made great progress. Thank you to all who participated.

There was a great turnout last Saturday for the cow horse practice session. Just a reminder that there is another session this Saturday 11-2 and on Sunday, April 3 11-2 at Mary Baks' place for anyone who wants to practice with the flag or work on any maneuvers.

This Hick Smokes earned High Point Open Reining, Reserve High Point Open Ranch Riding, and first in the Open Working Cow Horse too. Looking forward to another great year with the OQHA.
