A BIG THANKS TO ALL OUR VOLUNTEERS who give so passionately and tirelessly of their time and energy. You are indeed the roots that keep our community strong! Last night the Salvation Army in Hamilton hosted a wonderful thank you dinner for our volunteers. The program was both entertaining and inspiring. Thanks goes out to all those who helped to make this special evening possible. https://volunteer.ca/nvw2016

Let's celebrate the faithful mission work of the past! The photo below is of The Salvation Army Metropole - April 1910. This Shelter and early Thrift Store operated for 40 years before it was taken down to build our current building. Its awesome to think that The Salvation Army has been fulfilling its mission on this site for the past 106 years ... "sharing the love of Jesus, meeting human needs and being a transforming influence in Hamilton and the surrounding area"! Fun Fact ...If you look carefully at the sign on the front, a room for the night cost 10 cents! https://www.facebook.com/VintageHamilton/photos/a.575881689096795.1073741827.357013597650273/730412723643690/?type=1&theater
