BLUE ZONE PARKING - FINE INCREASE The Provincial Government’s amendments to the Designated Mobility Impaired Parking Regulations under the Highway Traffic Act related to illegally parking in a “blue zone” have been in effect since January 3, 2018 The Blue Zone parking fine has been raised to a minimum fine of $ 400 and a maximum of $700 for illegally parking in a blue zone parking space anywhere in the province. Motorists should be aware that the Town of Gander’s Municipal Enforcement Officers are permitted to issue the same fines under the Highway Traffic Act. These changes in regulations were announced in October, along with amendments to the Building Accessibility Regulations that will come in to effect in April 2018.
