ASH BERRY FARM'S 2018 ALL U-HARVEST MEMBERSHIP PROGRAM. ALL DETAILS in the post pinned at the top of our Facebook page! Huge thanks to our first 41 members that literally signed up over night! 59 shares still up for grab! THANKS!
ASH BERRY FARM'S 2018 ALL U-HARVEST MEMBERSHIP PROGRAM. First of all, please read carefully to avoid asking questions answered in this post. We are running a bit of an experiment this year, so things might change a bit as we go along and also prices will vary and change throughout the season. The membership fee includes nothing but access to the field to harvest your own food during opening hours. The more often you come, the more value you get out of the $25 membership fee. However, there will be certain rules to follow and also quotas depending on the crops. Prices for the available crops will be posted on our facebook page (pinned post). Supply and demand will dictate the prices you pay for the veggies you harvest but rest assured that there will be some savings in harvesting the food yourself and most importantly, you will be eating the freshest food money can buy! -100 spots available. -$25 membership fee payable now to reserve your spot. (a membership is good for one individual or one family) -No commitments, no obligations. -Does not include strawberries and pickling cukes! Strawberries will be open to public and the pickling cukes are all we-pick! -Everything else available strictly as U-HARVEST for members only. -Every week we will have a post pinned at the top of our facebook page letting you know what is available, the price and where to find it. Should you need assistance, the farmer at the till will be trained to help you :) -Open for harvesting 7 days a week from 8am until 11am and likely a couple evenings a week as well. We do not have greenhouses or anything, this is a super low tech farm with focus oriented on soil health. There will be some tools, a couple washing stations, a tent, a scale, and a farmer. Anticipate the early part of the growing season to be a little bit slow but we will have plenty throughout the growing season. (Think Kale, Chard, Carrots, Potatoes, shelling peas, cabbages, broccoli, salad greens, lavender, flowers, hopefully black currants and a lot more veggies ...) We will buy a lot of transplants from Outrageous Edibles & Bedibles so we will grow the usual bell peppers, cherry tomatoes, etc ... only they will be grown out in the field as we have always done with great success. It is really hard to find the sweet spot of members, but we feel more members and more freedom might work great in our busy community. Hence, no commitments and no obligations. However, if too many members fail to show up in the early part of the season we might open up for more members later on. This is an experiment and has great potential for the community, get a friend to join the program with you, make it a weekly date to go ''veggie shopping'' ! OR send your kids on their bicycles to harvest dinner! FIRST COME FIRST SERVE! Email money transfer $25 to miguellaroche@hotmail.com to reserve your spot (PASSWORD: ASHBERRY). If you take a while to join be sure to check our facebook page before you transfer money to make sure that we are not sold out of shares. THANK YOU ALL!
