The annual general meeting was held last week on April 27 with about 85 people in attendance. One of the highlights of the evening was the discussion and voting in of our new name. With the current name “Carman Coop (1959) Ltd” not fully representing the communities that we serve (Carman, Treherne, LaSalle and the surrounding areas), it was felt that the time had come to update and change our name. We are excited to announce that we have changed our name to “Homestead Coop”. By definition a homestead is any place a family makes its home. This is fitting, as the feeling we want to give to all our customers, in any of our locations, is “you’re at home here”. The evening was also a celebration of our employees and board members. Awards were handed out to some of our dedicated employees for their years of service. Yvonne Jeffers, Mike Hecht, Virginia Lefebure and Corinne Richardson celebrated their 5 years of service. Corrie Kateryniuk reached her 10 year milestone. Kris Hiebert and Diane Bergen both have been employed by the Coop for 15 years. Sherryl Enns has been part of the Coop family for a remarkable 20 years. And if you happen to run into Brian Maxwell in any of our stores, or over in the administration building, be sure to congratulate him on his 35 years of dedication to our community and our local Coop.

NEEDING BOXES? Just a friendly reminder that the food store location has a designated sheltered box bin for customers, located on the East side of the building. Just drive around on the North side and take a right. Sheltered box bin is attached to the exterior of the building. Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. Enjoy the beautiful weather!
