Thanks to Lisa Frey for passing along this article! We 110% agree with the notion that the deadlift is the most effective exercise...we just don't necessarily agree with the suggested variations. #BellLetsTalk #EndTheStigma #StrongBodyStrongMind #alphapower Strength training is just as much mental as it is physical. There is no question that strength training has many great physical benefits, but there are also several mental benefits that are just as, if not more, important! - Happier mindset - strength training releases endorphins (during and after your session); this is a huge help in combating stress as well as anxiety and depression - Increases energy - build up more endurance to get you through your day without feeling burnt out or overtired - Increases self esteem - there are visible and measurable results to your body, which improves your self-perception as well as your sense of accomplishment - Improves sleep patterns - your body needs time to recover and repair, so those who train tend to sleep more deeply - A chance to turn off your brain from the "everyday" - strength training requires focus, so your session is uninterrupted "you" time in which you can clear your mind from all of the day's stress
