Providing Animal Foster & Adoption programs to reduce euthanasia rates on the Coast.
Educating the community on becoming better pet owners Four Paws Adoption & Education is a Non Profit Organization & Incorporated Association established in the Livingstone Shire when it was discovered that there is a very high rate of animals being euthanized on the Capricorn Coast.

We have come together to educate the community on the responsibilities of being a pet owner along with creating a foster and adoption program for the Shire.

Our volunteers are just that volunteers, most of them have full time jobs. If you call and it is unanswered please leave a message and we will get back to you as soon as we can.

Donation Scams :( It has been brought to our attention that there are people soliciting money for "Four Paws" via phone and mail. A lady in NSW was called up by an alleged "representative" of Four Paws asking for money and we've had 2 people (SA & VIC) contact us to say they have received a letter in the post with one of our Four Paws pens - also asking to donate money. Four Paws Adoption and Education Inc never "cold calls" or sends any unsolicited material to anyone asking for donations. We do accept donations via various "Donation Boxes" located in the Yeppoon area and at our fundraising events as well as directly into our Donation Bank Account. If you've been contacted by someone via phone or mail as above please send us as much detail as possible via email, private message or by phone. We would appreciated it if anyone who has received any mail asking for donations from "Four Paws" if you could post the entire letter, including envelope and pen to our mailing address. All information will be passed onto our local police for their ongoing investigation into this matter.

It's Throwback Thursday!! Today we are celebrating my very own Meiky-moo <3 Meika was my very first foster that I took on in November 2014. She was abandoned with a litter of kittens. :( She was a hard one as she didn't like me or my other cat Domino very much and she would not eat anything I gave her for about a week. I tried everything. I bought a tin of every cat food there was and also tried fresh pet mince, fish, raw eggs - everything that our President and resident vet Veronica Turner and the foster coordinator at the time Jeanette Toohey advised. Finally she decided she wanted my chicken that I was cooking up for my stir fry. I was so relieved. Well I decided I loved this feisty Queen and adopted her not long later. To this day she still will not eat any sort of packaged cat food - basically it's BBQ chicken and cat bickies. She still lords it over Domino and turns her nose up at all the other fosters that I have taken on and but she's still my girl - with all her floofiness and unique meow. Top 2 photos are by Pawtraits of Purrfection Pet Photography and bottom 2 are mine. Don't forget we still have Lucy and Maple being fostered with us and they would love a forever home. #adoptdontshop #throwbackthursday #tbt

Thank you so much to everyone who has offered to volunteer at our upcoming Bunnings Sausage Sizzles. The next one is this Saturday 4 March. Our Fundraising Coordinator Shanii Zischke is still desperately in need of 3 more people to help out. She needs one more volunteer for the 7:30am to 10:30am shift and 2 for the 10:30am - 1:30pm shift. Unfortunately if we don't have the required amount of helpers we will have to cancel :( Shanii needs to know by Thursday at the latest. If you've ever thought about finding out a bit more about us get in touch and come along to help out - it's not that bad - really!! #itsallabouttheanimals

A Year ago this sweetheart came into the hands of Four Paws Adoption & Education Inc. Maple was just a young pup bursting with energy, Maple is still seeking a desperate foster home and/or Adoption to be in her forever home. This young girl would make a great exercise companion and a loyal friend. Maple is easily excited so isn't suited for a family with children under the age of 13. Maple would love to be your only pet and would certainly show you plenty of love and affection. 💕 Contact Four Paws today for more information regarding Maple. ❤️🐾

This week's Throwback Thursday is Max. Ahhh sweet little Maxy. I will never forget the day I went to collect him from Yeppoon Veterinary Surgery where he was taken after he was found as a stray at St Brendans. He was only 4 weeks old and very scared. He didn't take long to settle in and he was a lovely little companion. Although he destoyed my Christmas tree lights later that year I still loved him <3 He spent time with me and another carer until finally he met his new mum and it was love at first sight for them both. Just over a year ago Max was adopted and he hasn't looked back. His Mum sent me these photos the other day and said this: "I have had him for a year and I could not imagine my life without him 😀 He is so full of character 😻 and there is never a dull moment with him around." Top left photo is mine; top right taken by Pawtraits of Purrfection Pet Photography and bottom 3 by Max's mum. #throwbackthursday #tbt #adoptdontshop

Bunnings Sausage Sizzles are starting again next month. We will be fundraising on 4th and 25th of March (both Saturdays as always). Our Fundraising Coordinator Shanii is always on the lookout for helpers. If you would like to help and haven't been in touch with her already regarding to these two sizzles please message, call or email. All volunteers must be members for Insurance purposes. However, we do allow a non-member to come along and help out at one fundraiser - so if you just want to come along to meet us, help and find out more please do. No obligation to sign up afterwards unless you wish to come back and volunteer again. Insurance - yeah it's boring legal stuff but we need to protect you!!

As you all know we are in the unfortunate position of not having any foster carers for big dogs so we are unable to help a Livingstone Shire local out with rehoming his gorgeous girl - 5 year old Great Dane X Mastiff Lola. If you have a big-dog-shaped hole in your family (or know someone who does) please get in touch with her current owner - details are on the ad. Lola is already microchipped, desexed and recently vaccinated which is awesome. Just check out that gorgeous face and imagine yourself parading her down your street for walks <3 Don't forget we also have Maple and Lucy on our books - both looking for forever homes <3 <3

No special human in your life to get some hearts and flowers today? Never fear - if you have a pet you have a faithful companion who loves you unconditionally no matter what. So they can't buy you roses and chocolates? They are only temporary anyway but your pet is there for you with cuddles and companionship for their lifetime. So if you don't have a date tonight go home and sit in comfort in your jimjams, eat some ice cream and snuggle up to your non-judgmental furry friend <3
