When should your child have their first dental visit? Surprisingly the answer is around 12 months old! Waiting until your child has a full set of teeth can sometimes be too late. Generally we recommend that this first visit should happen near the first birthday. Early dental visits help protect your child from tooth decay by educating you, the parent, on what is needed to keep their teeth healthy. Do you dislike gooey dental impressions or do you have a sensitive gag reflex? Keppel Dental have switched to the new technology of digital scanning instead of messy impressions for crowns and some other procedures. A digital scanner uses a wand that captures 3D images of your mouth. We can email the image directly to our lab which also decreases the time between your appointments.
Breaking news. Medicare Child Dental Scheme is here to stay. You are encouraged to have your children’s teeth checked and cleaned. We have set aside special times in the school holidays for any dental treatment that needs to be done 4939 2155. There are new rules. If you have your treatment started in 2016 you will have access to $1000. If you start in 2017 it will only be $700.
