Muscles 💪🏼 We all have them, some are bigger than others but all of them are important in their own ways. Did you know the smallest muscle is in our ear, the largest is the gluteus maximus and our strongest muscles are arguable (are we talking dynamic, absolute or endurance strength)? Did you ever realise how amazing your jaw muscle is in terms of strength for size!? There is cardiac muscle, smooth muscle and skeletal muscle. All with their own functions and potential problems. If you're experiencing muscle pain, weakness or poor function don't put up with it. Muscles are our 'thing'! #physio #axis #muscularsystems

POSTURE 101: Your best posture is you next posture. We need to move from one position to another on a regular basis to avoid regressing back into the hunched postures we originated from. Remember being told to 'sit up tall' as a kid? This still applies, along with the proven notion that moving out of sitting regularly is the best thing you can do. Reasons we see at Axis contributing to poor posture include: -Muscle tightness -Muscle weakness -Imbalances -Static positons -Ergonomics and desk set ups -Lack of awareness -LACK OF MOVEMENT FROM POSITION TO POSITION TIPS: Drink water = leaving desk often to use the toilet Put printer away from desk = walking to get printed documents Set a timer = reminder to move and check your posture Sit to stand desk = option to move from sitting while continuing to do work Lunch time walks = promote movement and reduce pain from static posture You're welcome! #axisphysio #3280 #appointmentsavailable #55629071
