So Elm Tree Motel has been listed as number Eight out of the top Ten Motels on the Great Ocean Road according to Hotel Trivago. So we are very proud of this and we will now work on the challenge to stay there or better this result. Thank you to all that have reviewed us and made this happen for us.

We have been out and about looking at the huge volumes of water coming to the coast from the very wet country around the south west Victoria area and here are some pics from The Hopkins Falls to the river mouth at the coast in Lady bay. Also some other shots from along the coast east of the river mouth. These show clearly the dirty water that’s pouring in the sea and making the surf foam, just like the water at Hopkins Falls inland a little. The pictures along the walk shown are typical of the natural coast line hard on the cliffs. Most plants that flower are flowering and the site is really nice even if the weather today was not the ultimate. #visitgreatoceanroad #warrnambool

So pretty much its winter here now and things have slowed down here, enough for us to take an opportunity for a nice walk with our fury friends and checked out Thunder Point here at Warrnambool. Thunder Point is another great place to either walk or ride mountain bikes along trails provided through natural coastal bush, grasses and take in the really unique views along the way. The Lands Geological history is there to see everywhere with the limestone and sedimentary layers seen on the beaches and cliffs above the Great Southern Oceans crystal clear water. This walk takes you from the carpark at Thunder Point down to Shelly Beach and it is approximately 1200m without getting off the beaten track. Enjoy the pics – We enjoyed the walk. 2 pics to note are the two holes in the rock and the big deep low hole.

It was an absolutely stunning day for a bike ride today. So that's wha I did while Diana looked after the motel. The bay was picture perfect. The water was as clear as crystal.
