Together with the Sydney Observatory and the Castle Hill Discovery centre, it makes up the Museum of Applied Arts and Sciences.

The Museum is open every day except for Christmas Day (25 December).

Please note that buses replace the light rail between Central and The Star from 25 December 2016 to Monday 23 January 2017. Light rail services will continue to operate, as normal, between Dulwich Hill and Convention Centre – the Convention Centre light rail stop is a short walk from the Powerhouse Museum.
