Free arts and crafts and oral health check: Djerriwarrh Health Services in partnership with the Koolin Balit Babaneek Booboop Project, the Salvation Army Children and Parenting Support Services, and the Seed of Hope Creative Art Therapy is hosting a free oral health promotion event for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children aged 0-10. This event will be happening at the Melton Health Dental Department on the 10th and 14th of July 2017. An Art Therapist will be giving away “Brave Super Hero” hand puppet s for children while they wait for their dental appointment. This activity will encourage the Koorie kids to be "Super brave", as they prepare themselves for their dental check-up. Free dental kits will also be given away to participating children.

'As part of Education Week the CaPSS Team delivered a Healthy Lunchbox Workshop to parents and students at Wyndham Park Primary School. Information was shared about making healthy lunch choices for our children; swapping packet chips for veggie sticks and dips, packing multi-grain crackers, and pack a water bottle instead of a juice box. We made Okonomiyaki (Japanese pancake) which contained 5 different types of vegetables. This delicious meal was enjoyed by all, even those allergic to vegetables!
