Bradken Fixed Plant Senior Sales Coordinator Rachel Taylor is calling for donations to help support her efforts in The MACA Ride to Conquer Cancer. So far Rachel’s raised $1610, with a goal of hitting at least $2500 before the start of the two-day, 200km ride in October. Money raised will go to the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research. With the NRL competition kicking off next Thursday the Mobile Plant team at the Newcastle head office celebrated casual Friday by wearing their favourite team’s jersey to show their support. Poor Brad Ward copped it for wearing a Broncos jersey.

Bradken’s Innisfail workshop has been awarded an $11 million contract to build 1000 six-tonne cane bins for MSF Sugar. The contract is the largest order for cane bins received for the Innisfail site, eclipsing the 357 six-tonne cane bins the factory has supplied to the South Johnstone Mill since 2013. Pictured are Bradken’s Roy Flanders and Ron Donges, with MSF Sugar’s Mike Barry and Barry O’Brien signing off on the deal.

Bradken was proud to be part of the recent Liddell Colliery open days, giving local families a fun insight into how the site operates. About 400 people were entertained by exhibits, videos and demonstrations by all of the suppliers.

Bradken fitted a Harmonise upper rigging cluster to a 8050 dragline machine at another Bowen Basin mine. The Harmonise upper hoist’s unique design will provide the site with greater productivity and reduced operating costs. Women in Industry Awards 2016
On Thursday 14 July Bradken attended the third annual Women in Industry Awards at the Showtime Events Centre, Melbourne in support of two of our brightest young female professionals nominated for awards in 2016. Metallurgist Rebecca O’Brien and Graduate Metallurgist Kimberly Workman were both selected as Finalists in the ‘Rising Star’ and ‘Excellence in Engineering’ categories along with a diverse range of other highly successful women across the mining, engineering, manufacturing, logistics and commercial road transport industries. Congratulations to our girls and to all the other Finalists and Winners from this years’ event. Bradken looks forward to returning in 2017 to showcase the achievements of more of our talented female employees.
