Textile Gems and Eclectic Wearables and Machine Quilting Service Hi, I'm Judi! My handicraft interest started when I was just a teen and I've tried it all, crochet, tapestry, knitting you name it. However it was only when I became a young mum that i found my passion when Patchwork came into my life. Quacky Quilts was born! I am a tutor and provide a Machine Quilting Service from my studio on the Fraser Coast, Queensland, Australia. It was when Cloth Dolls drew my attention that a friend and I started making and designing character cloth dolls under the banner of Dolly Duo. Together we have developed a great range of patterns. This led to creating my own textiles to adorn the dolls, and my interest in Textile Art was born.
The sewing machine is my first love. I enjoy making the machine do what I want, not what it is programmed to do. Dabbling in Mixed Media has become part of my recent play time. I like to create a surface and build textures and dimensions. Paint, glue and paper have appeared in my sewing room and I am loving it. Who knows where I will go next. That’s part of the adventure we call CREATIVITY. Every time I sit at my work table, inspiration strikes in a different way and I head off on a new journey.

Catch up day before The Handmade Expo tomorrow. Time to make the Tea Cups for our Meet The Makers at The Gift Bag next Friday and Saturday at Pialba Place, Hervey Bay. Using it as a chance to raise money for Breast Cancer Research. Gold coin donation gets you a Tea Cup biscuit. Now to bag them and add their pink ribbon. There'll be plenty so if you can't get there this weekend, I'm sure they will be in the shop for the next while. Call in and donate to this much needed cause.
