CHOICE is a completely self-funded body, and has been empowering consumers with expert and unbiased advice for over 50 years to ensure you get the best deal. The CHOICE Facebook page is a place where members and fans can interact with CHOICE and each other to discuss issues of relevance to Australian consumers.

Do you have an ethanol burner at home? The Minister for Small Business, Michael McCormack has proposed a national interim ban for certain types of decorative alcohol fueled burners, also known as ethanol burners: https://goo.gl/Owi7MV The decorative burners caused more than 100 incidents and at least 113 injuries to date. Consumers with a temporarily banned ethanol burner should stop using it immediately, and exercise their rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

Following a CHOICE investigation, the ACCC has accepted a court enforceable action against the maker of Spencers, Anchor Foods for selling adulterated oregano: https://goo.gl/nD1K9I Spencers must now undertake regular testing of its oregano and other herbs and spices products for a period of three years. CHOICE revealed a number of popular brands selling oregano tainted with olive and sumac leaves, with one product containing less than 10% oregano: https://goo.gl/OOxwbc Have you purchased any of the dodgy dried oregano brands?

CHOICE tested aerosol spray sunscreen and found that only 40-60% is sunscreen: https://goo.gl/uVm6LU Our test also found that out of each spray (10 grams), only 4-6 grams actually end up on your skin. You can lose even more to overspray, especially if it's windy or if you're spraying a small area. Do you use aerosol spray sunscreen?
