A diet high in fibre provides a greater feeling of fullness and reduces food cravings. There are two types of fibres. Soluble fibre Soluble fibres have been linked to reducing LDL (bad cholesterol) and may help with blood glucose stabilization. They also help prevent constipation. Sources: Oat bran, blueberries, beans, apples, flaxseed Insoluble fibre Insoluble fibres add bulk to the faeces to prevent constipation and associated problems such as haemorrhoids.
