Kat Dent: Remedial, Pregnancy & Fertility Massage Therapist
Description
Kathleen, affectionately known as Kat, is a Remedial Massage Therapist based at ReMed Natural Health Clinic in Lower Plenty. Kathleen, affectionately known as Kat, knew from an early age that she had a strong desire to become a massage therapist. She was an active child involved in dancing, tennis and horse riding and received regular massage treatments to allow her to stay as active as she wanted. Today, one of Kat’s children requires ongoing massage to help correct an inwardly rotated lower limb, further cementing her belief in massage to help children stay active. She regularly provides remedial massage to children, including her own.
Kat always had a wish to study massage and following starting a family completed three accredited courses including a Diploma in Remedial Massage. As a general remedial massage therapist, Kat has had great success in treating clients suffering from headaches and migraines as well as general muscular conditions, and was engaged as the official massage therapist for the North Central Region State Netball Teams at the State Netball Titles held in Melbourne in 2012 and 2013.
Following a successful practice in general massage Kat followed an interest in women’s health to specialise in pre-natal and pregnancy health, gaining a specialised accreditation in pregnancy massage from Pregnancy Massage Australia, the most highly respected organisation in the field. She is now one of less than 10 practitioners in Victoria with an accreditation in Fertility Massage, obtained via a highly regarded specialist course led by an expert from the UK (the first such course to be held in Australia).
Kat also actively works with other practitioners in the areas of headaches, muscular conditions, pregnancy and fertility to provide clients with the best possible outcomes. An initial session is preferably a one hour appointment and includes taking a prior history and assessing current conditions as well as a future treatment plan.
