Help to choose the front cover for Outside The Square Magazine, please view all photos and select (LIKE) the 3 that you think most suitable for the front page of the magazine. The end date for selection is Friday 20th January 2017. The editor reserves the right to finalize the most suitable Face Book choice due to resolution requirements. Some photos have been edited where possible bring them up to the correct orientation, some were not able to be edited and not all these photos have the correct resolution or composition. The most popular photo (if it is not chosen for the front page) will receive acknowledgement. Hi Square Meaters breeders. Why don't you send some bull photos to RaynerAg.'s FB page. Needs to be a good photo that shows the bull off. Put up a little bit about the bull and they will look at putting it on the Bull of the week. Great way to get the breed noticed. Cheers Cate Stanton

The success of Preston Rise in the steer competition at the Royal Perth Show has provided an enormous boost for Square Meaters and the recognition of the breed as a producer of premium beef for the domestic market.

Royal Perth Show 2016, is over for those showing beef cattle but the memories will be long lasting for Preston Rise Square Meaters and breeders Doug and Erin Wilcock. Their success in both stud and hoof and hook competitions is outstanding. It is very special for a stud to achieve the following results; Specialty Interbreed Supreme Bull - Preston Rise Lycettjax Grand Champion Carcass - Preston Rise Lou with a score of 94.29 Highest Points Owner Breed Steer - Preston Rise Lou Champion Light Weight - Preston Rise Lou Lou, along with steers form Meta Park and Kelmscott Senior High School (also a Meta Park Steer) came second in the group of 3 steers.

Square Meaters do it again. Following on from the 2nd place on the hoof for the group of 3 steers, the Preston Rise Steer won Grand Champion Carcass at the Royal Perth Show. The score of 94.29 is exceptional. This is an excellent result for Preston Rise and Erin and Doug Wilcock. Congratulations

In researching the performance of Square Meaters in carcass competitions this set of results was found. This heifer was a meat machine producing remarkable results, exemplifying what Square Meaters is about. The entry was in the lightweight domestic class Tamworth 2004. Live weight 402 kgs, HSCW 255 kgs Dressing percentage 63.4% P8 fat 7 mm, Rib fat 6 mm Rib eye area 111 cm point score 88.5 1st on the Hoof, 1st on the hook

Square Meaters put in another great performance in a Steer competition. In the group of three steers competition at the Royal Perth Agricultural Show, Square Meaters were place second. An outstanding result.

Preston Rise and Meta Park share the ribbons at Perth Royal. Meta Park Heidi was named Champion Senior Female and Preston Rise Lycettjax won Specialty Interbreed Supreme Champion Bull.
