Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary Bonorong is a Wildlife Sanctuary with a difference.  Through education and empowerment we harness the power of the community to aid us in the protection of Tasmania’s unique native wildlife.

Our product is our passion and we share this with our guests during in-depth, personalised tours which showcase our animals and the work of the Sanctuary.  Tours at Bonorong are fun, informative and inspiring.

Our work revolves around the rehabilitation and eventual release of injured and orphaned wildlife.  We operate Tasmania’s only 24hr wildlife rescue service.  It is these stories of survival that we aim to share with our visitors.

**TRANSPORT SORTED THANK YOU!** 2.21pm This is now sorted - thanks all! 12.43pm Hi all! We have an unwell swan in Port Arthur that needs a ride to Bonorong - or even some of the way in this direction. The swan is currently contained, but the ride-giver will need a tub or similar for transport (we can tell you more on the phone). No handling required as we have a trained rescuer on site - and although he's done the hard yards of containment and keeping the swan calm - he has to continue working and can't do the drive! If you, or someone you know is able to assist, please call our wildlife rescue hotline on 0447 264 625. Please share this post and tag any friends that may be in the area to assist so we can get this swan some help! Cheers, The Bonorong Team

**THANK YOU SO MUCH!** We have been overwhelmed by and are so thankful for your generosity. We now have enough towels and pillowcases to see us through the season, and a stash to keep us going afterward! While we don't need any more towels or pillowcases, we do encourage you to reach out to other organisations that might need them. -- CAN YOU HELP? The Sanctuary is in need of towels! We have just gone through one of our biggest orphan seasons on record and our usual towel supplies are running a little low! If you have a spare towel or two (of three!) that you don't need anymore, then please consider donating any surplus to Bonorong to help out some critters in need! :) Towels need to be in reasonable condition (no holes or tattered/frayed edges please!) and at least a standard bath towel size. If you can help out please feel free to drop any towel donations up to the Sanctuary during our opening hours (8am-5pm, 7 days) :) Thanks in advance! Photo - Liz Pulo.

It has been a long time in the making, but we are EXTREMELY excited to announce that a project we have been working on behind the scenes has finally come to fruition! Ladies and gentleman the "Bonorong Food Hut" is now officially open! :D Open daily for lunch, our Food Hut manager Ziad (pictured below) and his team are serving delicious environmentally friendly, vegetarian friendly and vegan friendly food <3 The hut's opening hours are still a work in progress, but we will be open from at least 12pm-2pm daily (hours will change coming in to our peak season, so contact us to enquire if needed!). Take home meals are available too, so you don't even have to enter the Sanctuary to enjoy a delicious snack! Simply head to the side window facing the car park and one of the Food Hut team will greet you there :) Another option could be if you are heading past Brighton (say on your way from Hobart to Launceston) you could easily drop in to grab a meal from us on your way through ;) Our "hot meal" menu options will change weekly (so there is always something new to try!) and there will be our regular favourite dishes daily as well as some sweet treats too :D We hope you will support the Bonorong Food Hut on your next visit to the Sanctuary, see you soon!
