Many of us took part in this years 12 hour cycle marathon for Tour De Cure. Although I did not participate in the full 12 hours last year 2016, I challenged myself to complete the full 12 hours this year 2017, and a challenge it was. I was pushed not only physically but mentally, Im not going to lie there was times I wanted to give up. Remembering a quote I once read: “You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You must do the thing which you think you cannot do” Having lost family members to cancer myself it gives you the edge to keep going, to keep pushing and when you think you have exhausted all possibilities, remember this: You haven't. I had the pleasure of riding side by side with a very close friend of mine Meg. Meg was one of many participants who took part; riding 9 days, 1300km from Hotham Vic to Hobart Tas, to raise funds and awareness for people suffering from Cancer. Meg is one hard working woman and her passion for finding a cure for cancer is truly inspirational. Her team this year was Sunrise Chanel 7. The feeling you get knowing you're a part of something that is helping and supporting people in their fight against Cancer is somewhat overwhelming. A special shoutout to all who took part in this years 12 hour event and everyone who has donated, you all did an amazing job and should be very proud of yourselves. Today I received an Amazing gift from Tour de Cure. A personalised thank you card and my own jersey. Special mention to Everyone at Tour de Cure, Geoff Coombes and of course Meg for all that you do!! You are truly inspirational. Xx

A few days ago I was pedalling with 120 selfless, committed individuals riding to cure cancer with Tour de Cure Australia. Tomorrow I can't wait to pedal with My Canberra Crew at 12.15pm. We might take a leaf out of this ones book and turn up the Hulk mode.
