Modern Medical is a General Practice clinic providing a range of primary health services focused on helping the local community in Caroline Springs. Modern Medical is an existing provider of General Practice services currently operating 8 clinics in 6 different locations throughout Victoria.
The first Modern Medical Clinic was opened in 2003 in Caroline Springs where the population was around 4000 people when we opened. The centre operated with one GP (Dr Todd Cameron) and has grown steadily since then.
We now deliver primary health services with 15 GPs in Caroline Springs and have 5 nurses working as part of the team as well as an adjoining specialist centre providing for Psychologists, a dietitian, a chiropractor, a podiatrist, an audiologist, and several medical specialists.
Modern Medical has been privileged to grow with the local community of Caroline Springs and currently deliver health services through one other purpose built clinic in this suburb.
The other GP clinics are currently operating in the suburbs of:
• Balwyn
• Hobson's Bay
• Craigieburn
• Bayswater
• Wyndham
Our main points of difference to our patients are in:

Mission Statement
To build on the existing experience of the operators in primary health service delivery to provide a local service using local knowledge and building on the infrastructure and work already laid down by Modern Medical and to continue to operate as an effective and efficient deliverer of GP Clinic services to the community.

It's the appointment that most women wish they didn't need to have, but unfortunately having regular pap smears is an important part of our healthcare. If you would like to see one of our nurses for your next pap smear appointment please let the admin team know at the time of booking, you may of course continue to see your regular GP if that is your preference. We know it’s not something you really want to hear, but getting regular sexual health checks every year if you're sexually active is a good idea. STIs are infections that are transmitted by sexual contact. They have different causes, symptoms, and ways of treating them. There are things you can do to try and prevent STIs, and if you've had sex, it's important to test for STIs even if there are no immediate symptoms; 7 in 10 people who have chlamydia have no symptoms. We have doctors that specialise in Sexual Health and also family planning. We can counsel you on the contraceptive methods available and prescribe something appropriate for you. We can also fit Implanon and Mirena If required. If you have contraception fail then still come in to see us and we can either arrange for emergency contraception or to discuss your options with you, in a caring and supportive environment. Dr Nick recently joined the team at Modern Medical team at Caroline Springs, and we are very pleased to be welcoming new patients to the practice. Nick’s special interest areas include Sexual health, Men’s Health and Preventative Medicine. ____________________________________________________ “5 minutes with…” Dr Nick Rhodes! Where were you born? Coventry in the UK When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? Initially I wanted to be a vet but then didn’t really like the idea of putting animals to sleep so decided to become a doctor What do you like most about being a GP? I like the variety of our work, we never know what’s coming through the door next. I also enjoy being able to help patients through difficult times and life events and getting a glimpse into their lives. Where is your favourite place in the world? My favourite City in the world is Capetown. You can climb mountains, laze by the beach, visit wineries and have amazing food all in one day. My favourite country though is France. I spent summers there as a child and love to reminisce when there. What is something that would surprise us about you?
