Often clients come to see me first and foremost with a weight loss goal. Many have never trained strength and are dealing with steadily worsening postural issues from work and lifestyle habits. Along that path towards those very goals, you can recieve benefits to your body that you may not have initially set out to achieve. It's not until we gain that "body awareness" that we realise what muscles we should be feeling in certain movements and the default postural positions we fall into on a daily basis out of habit. Such minor "awareness tweaks" can have such a huge impact on reducing pain, improving sleep, increasing your energy levels and in tern increasing your motivation to continue on your fitness journey as you reap the benefits! My client Heather first began training with me around a year ago. At the time she was having issues with shoulder bursitis and was unable to identify the muscles required to pack her shoulder and move with safe and correct form. With continual work on body awareness and gradually increasing her strength Heather has come from kneeling push ups to now busting out Hindu push ups, pain free.... and she is also getting comments from others on how toned and great she is looking 😉💪. I was up early and made the most of a beautiful morning 🌞. I can now say I have finally run the Manning Stairs 🏃😉. It was a great reminder of the need to mix up our cardio. I have actually never been to Jacobs Ladder and this was my first time experiencing the challenge of the Manning Stairs 💪. That feeling when you are done is always awesome 😄, but yes my quads were feeling it 😥 by the 4th and 5th lap. I made it to six and would 💜 to get back there again soon until it feels easier! Definitely worth checking out for something different and the views are amazing 🌞🙌. Happy Easter Everyone 🤗!!!

Originally I came to thailand this trip to get back into some training in Muay Thai after a year without kicking pads I really missed it! Also to train along side Shannon while she worked towards her first 5 round fight 😄. Prior to heading to thailand the focus of my training had been strength mainly. I am working towards finally doing my level 1 #strongfirst course in July, after missing the opportunity earlier this year. Prior to heading over I was probably only running 3k... more like a run/walk a couple of times a week as my cardio. In my first two days at Eagle Muay Thai they offered me the opportunity to fight, so I went for it! Knowing I was here to do the training and what better incentive than jumping back in the ring on my holiday after 2yrs out of the ring. It was awesome to finally experience fighting in Phuket and get the win by round 4 TKO. All I can say is...Your body is an amazing machine! 💪. We ran and trained twice a day for 2-2.5hrs a session. I was so greatful for the opportunity to test my mind and my body and prepare for a fight in only two weeks. Challenging myself physically and mentally has really helped me shift my perspective on the way I approach dealing with issues life throws our way. Sometimes the battles we have in the ring have nothing on the ones we face in life, in the ring your fight will only last 10 minutes! You can never predict the future... but when you fuel your body with good nutrition, you train your body to be strong and you continue to learn and build your skills that will also tests your mind 🤔👌. This is when you know you will always be okay. You will have the mental clarity and physical strength to battle situations life throws your way one step at a time. I can honestly say that without the value I put on health and the choice to surround myself with awesome people. These girls have been awesome to train with and it's always great to meet people on the same path as us 👊. Yes we choose to train twice a day in this beautiful place and call it a holiday 😅, call us crazy! Thankyou to everyone who came down to the gym to participate in our charity event for Luan and his family and congratulations to Leonie who won the raffle prize, a meat hamper donated to our cause courtesy of Market City Meats. Thankyou so much! We had such a great turn out on Thursday night and it was so much fun giving everyone a snap shot of all the classes we offer here as a collaboration between; Tactical Primitive, GTL - Gait to Life and Hurricane PT.
