Description
The UCC Student Managed Fund is an investment fund run by UCC students who have a keen interest in finance. A sub committee of the UCC Accounting and Finance Society. The fund takes in Analysts from all the different courses across UCC. Our purpose is to provide students with an interest in finance with Learning, Career Development and Networking opportunities.

Hi All, Positive Equity, a proprietary trading firm based in Dublin, will be giving a talk in UCC tomorrow, Tuesday 25th October, from 1-2pm in ORB202. They will be speaking about what a day in the life of a trader involves, giving examples of their trading strategies and will also outline internship and graduate opportunities at Positive Equity. Hi guys, Just a reminder that the Launch night for the SMF with Goodbody is on Thursday 6th October at 6 p.m in Boole 3. We will be outlining the finalised plan for the year and this will be the last opportunity for people to join the Fund this semester. There will be a number of representatives from Goodbody at the event so this is a great opportunity to meet them and learn more about trading, wealth management, investment banking and also to learn about opportunities to work with Goodbody. Hey Everyone, I hope you all had a great Freshers week! Just to let you know we're having our first meeting of the year tomorrow, Monday September 19th at 6 p.m in Kane G18. It will be a quick meeting where we explain a bit about the Fund, the opportunities it provides for Internships, trips and networking going forward and will also give people the opportunity to sign up as Equity Analysts in the Fund. If anyone you know wants to join the Fund who missed us on Societies Day then be sure to bring them along too. Hope to see you all there!

Hey Guys There is an exciting trading intervarsity competition taking place over a 4 week period. If you wish to take part create a demo account on IG Markets (link down below) and trade yourself to riches in the coming few weeks. Top 2 candidates with the most profit at the end of the period will get a chance to represent UCC in the finals in Dublin. How to take part: 1) Create a demo trading account on IG Markets. http://www.ig.com/uk/demo-account 2) Email your login details to accfin@uccsocieties.ie. This is to check a your balance at the end. 3) Trade away until the 25th of March when trading ceases. Important Rule: 5 minimum trades are required over the period in order to be considered.
