Maine Unclaimed Property Database Maine State Treasurer Terry Hayes is reminding Mainers of their ability to “claim” currently unclaimed property. Certain assets that are abandoned, lost, or unidentified must legally be publicized for a period of time. These assets do not only accrue to your municipality’s residents – it is our understanding that some municipalities are in fact currently entitled to collect, too. To search the Treasurer’s database, go to www.maine.gov/upsearch.
