facebook.comWesley was treated to special music this morning by our very own Wyatt St. Onge playing violin! It's always a blessing to hear the musical talents from those in our congregation.
Yay God!!! Tonight Wesley entertained over forty Winona State college students with a Waffle and Game Event. We were able to offer food and community as many of these students bounced from one event to another this evening. What a success and blessing. Continue to pray for the students in Winona as they transition into College and begin their classes. Let us as a church be a light in their life!
Yesterday in Children's Church, we talked about Acts 2:36-42. We read through the Message version of this scripture. At the beginning we had a messed up stack of words and then arranged the main point of the scripture. "They committed themselves to the teaching of the apostles, the life together, the common meal, and the prayers." This is a shout out to the awesome Ricky and Ryder for being super creative with the arrangement of our scripture activity and full of amazing energy! You will be missed Finall family!
And this is what four tired, but joyful chaperones look like boarding our plane home to Minneapolis after an extended adventure in Costa Rica. Thank you for all your prayers and support throughout our journey! (Minus Jeanne Minnerath who loved it so much she decided to stay longer.)
And the adventures continue for our Costa Rica mission team... . . . . Flight out of Costa Rica has been cancelled and we're now spending the day in a hotel until our flight tomorrow afternoon. Prayers for safety and positive attitudes are appreciated.
Yesterday in Children's Church, we talked about the Israelites journey out of Egypt. We looked at a map of the journey that the Israelites took to get to the promised land. God led the Israelites in a strange way that took a long time. It would have made more sense to go the ways that other caravans were using, but it wasn't as safe as going the long, long way. God wanted them to be safe and to not be afraid and turn around and go back to Egypt. When the Israelites left Egypt, God gave them a lot of gifts on this journey. Two of the gifts were clouds and lighting (or fire). These gifts lead the Israelites during the day and during the night, so they could continue their journey during the day and during the night.
Adios Hogar de Vida! It has been a blessing getting to serve alongside you this past week. We are forever changed because of our time here. Pray for safe travels back to the United States. On to our next adventure!
Happy Sunday! There will be Children's Church this morning! Come see what our story is all about! Hint: we are talking about a journey taken many, many, years ago!
We've enjoyed many Costa Rican fruits during our time here, but our favorite ones so far are the sweet baby feet.
Good morning from Costa Rica! Taking time during our hectic fast pace day to focus on time with God and in His word. May this continue once we are home. And in everyone's life may we take time to refocus on God and each little blessing He has provided us.
Today our mission team experienced Costa Rica through another lens. We spent the day witnessing God's creation at the beach and in the town of Jaco. We are well rested and ready for more days of work projects and loving on the children at Hogar de Vida. Keep us and those we are working with in your prayers. As sticking with tradition, here's a picture of an iguana as our team was too busy enjoying Jaco.
