National Day of Prayer on May 4th at Noon. We had a wonderful response and attendance. Thank you to everyone who attended.
Saturday May 6th 11am-3pm at Occasions Unlimited 2160 Main St. Occasions Unlimited staff is assisting in a fund raiser for one of their own, Ms Yvonne Morton who is a cancer patient. They will have lunches for sale Saturday from 11:00AM to 3:00PM. Entertainment will be provided. The lunches will be a Jambalaya Dinner, Fried Chicken, or BBQ Chicken. Sides will be white beans, baked beans, tossed salad, and sweets. Cost $8.00. Cold Drinks will be available as well to purchase. All proceeds will benefit Mrs. Morton in assisting with covering her medical and other bills. This benefit is sponsored by Women of Grace MInistry Non-Profit Organization.

The City of Baker has sand and sandbags available to our residents behind City Hall (3325 Groom Rd) and at our Public Works Office (1507 Mississippi St). Both locations are self fill only. Planting is happening today at the Community Garden over on Camelia Street next to the Baker Methodist Church! Mr Willie Tate is such a sweet resident and is working hard to help get the seeds in the ground before Sunday's upcoming rain. Stop by and help out if you can.
