The Ohio County Public Library in Wheeling is West Virginia’s oldest tax-supported library, opening October 12, 1882 as the “Wheeling Public Library."
Today the Ohio County Public Library continues to serve the Wheeling community by providing informational, educational, cultural, and technological information and opportunities.

facebook.comThe main lot entrance to the library will be tentatively closed today, 8/23, possibly longer, while work is completed by construction crews, but the library is still open! Patrons using the main parking lot (the parking lot that runs adjacent to both 17th and Chapline Streets) will have to walk around the building via Eoff Street to use the 16th Street entrance. Please note: Due to weather concerns, the Kid's Summer Reading Pool Party has been rescheduled for Wednesday, August 9 at 6 pm. Children need to bring their Summer Reading Activity Book to use as their ticket to the party. All families will be given a wrist band that will allow them to enter the pool and go down the slide.
