Congratulations to the newest IDEA Master Tech, and the first second generation member of this elite fraternity. Merlin Theurer, of Applegate Door Service in Philomath, Oregon, completed his final test to complete the certification criteria on Friday, to earn the status of Master Automated Access Systems Technician, the highest level of credentialing for door and access systems technicians. He follows his father, Marion "Lawrie" Theurer who was among the earliest of the industry's professionals to earn the Gold Symbol for door systems technicians. The Master Automated Access Systems Technician honor is attained by earning and maintaining IDEA certifications in Residential Installation, Commercial Sectional Door Systems, Commercial Rolling Door Systems and Rolling Steel Fire Doors. Congratulations Merlin! You have earned the right to call yourself the best the industry has to offer!
