I am very excited to host this event on Thursday evening and to honor Howard Frank Mosher and the release of his final book POINTS NORTH. My first introduction to Howard was through reading A STRANGER IN THE KINGDOM sometime in the early 90's. Having grown up in the Northeast Kingdom, I recognized many parts and pieces of the characters, and I promptly fell in love with the Kinneson clan. Years later when I opened Bridgeside Books Howard was generous with his time in visiting the shop, offering encouragement, and welcoming me into the world of bookselling. His last visit was an impromptu stop to see if I needed any stock signed--customers always loved signed copies of his books! We spent about 45 minutes laughing, sharing stories, and talking (book) shop talk. Always generous with his time, I think of that last visit often. We look forward to welcoming local author Stephen Russell Payne to read passages from POINTS NORTH and share tales of Howard Frank Mosher. Join us on Thursday to share your favorite Howard Frank Mosher tale or read a favorite passage from any of the books. We'll have plenty of copies of POINTS NORTH on hand as well as earlier books.
