California Speedboat Association is a club for vintage speedboat enthusiasts. Hydroplanes, flatbottoms, crackerboxes, runabouts, skiffs, outboards you name it. If it floats, was built before 1986 and goes fast it might qualify for the California Speedboat Association.

FOR SALE: "the Agitator" 1964 Fred Wickens 280 Hydroplane. Well documented. Built for Dr. Deloit Wolfe and raced out of Missoula MT. Sold in the 1970's to Billy Williams who raced it out of Oakland CA. It has always campaigned as 'the Agitator'... Solid running boat which has a APBA built spec 5 litre Chevrolet 305 2 bbr Holly. Electronic ign. Runs on premium pump gas. Turn-Key. Ran at Richland WA. this year with no problems. 3 reworked Hi-Jay propellers by Scott Baker. Tandem trailer with elect. brakes.... Trailer has lots of steel surrounding and protecting the boat. Boat dolly on casters included. Rebuilt in 2007 & 2008. New ribbon mahogany deck w/battons, new sponsons, new bottom w/battons, rebuilt bow & transom, new right side non-trip. All the frames were re-attached (properly) to the stringers & air traps. The 1939 "Notre Dame" with the W24, one of the first to exceed 100mph in competition. The motor survives and now powers a replica of the original boat which will make its debut later this month in South Lake Tahoe at the Wood Classic in Tahoe Keys.
