Michelle's Academy of Dance , also known as MAD, was founded in 1990 by Mrs. Michelle Reinoehl Keefe in Union, GA. Michelle's Academy of Dance has been a staple in the West Georgia area, with locations in  Temple, Tallapoosa, Villa Rica, Bremen, and Bowdon. In 2008, the studio was sold to the current owner/director Ms. Lindsey Ann Merritt, who was a longtime student and dance instructor under Mrs. Michelle.

Going into our 26th season, we are currently located in two convenient locations: Villa Rica and Bremen.  MAD plays an active role in the communities we are located, performing at many local events and fairs, including the Villa Rica Gold Rush Festival, the Bremen Towne Festival, the Buchanan Fair on the Square, Temple's Founder's Day, the Villa Rica Tree Lighting, and the North Georgia State Fair. MAD is also routinely invited to participate in national performance opportunities, having performed  at the Orange Bowl Halftime Show,  the Festival of Trees of Atlanta, the Fourth of July Parade in Atlanta, Walt Disney World, Carnival Cruise Lines, the Atlanta Parent Magazine Block Party, and at the Atlanta Dream Halftime Show.  

MAD has a strong competitive dance company and travels nationally competing at various competitions  at  both the regional and national level. MAD's talent has been awarded numerous top choreography awards, top overall awards, title awards, special judges' awards, and most entertaining act awards. Additionally, MAD has been named Top Primary Studio, Top Secondary Studio, and Top Intermediate Studio several times, and has achieved the prestigious title KAR's National Grand Champions in 2007 and 2012.   MAD has also received the distinguished title of "Studio of the Year" two years in a row from the nationally recognized competition, Kids Artistic Revue. Several of MAD's students have been chosen for several scholarships including  Dave Scott's Intensive routine at Pulse New York, KAR All Stars' Scholarship, and KAR's Convention Scholarship. Our students have  gone on to be members of  The University of Georgia Dance Team, Valdosta State University's Red Hots, Jacksonville State University Ballerinas, Jacksonville State University Go-Go's, the University of West Georgia Dance Team, and  the Atlanta Falcons' Cheerleaders.

At MAD, we are very thankful to have the incredible opportunity to advance young talent  from the inside out, and to offer opportunities to experience rewarding moments that will last a lifetime. It is our goal not only to build strong, well-rounded, passionate, technical dancers, but also to build  responsible, respectful, inspirational, and committed individuals. This combination of skill and experience will provide the stepping stones each child needs in whatever paths they choose!
