Crew 14
Description
A group of dedicated young men and women committed to exploring the outdoors and building friendships for a lifetime. Established in 2014, Crew 14 is a co-ed Venturing Association of America crew, offering members chances to explore and experience the outdoors in ways that traditional clubs and groups cannot offer.
Whether it's rock-climbing in the Columbia River gorge, hiking on Mount Hood or traversing the endless forests of the Pacific Northwest, Crew 14 offers an unparalleled level of high-adventure and community with fellow Venturers.

Congratulations to Adam Brendgard for receiving the Venturing Leadership award at tonight's Council COH. He was unable to convince his Coast Guard crew to motor up to Portland, so his mom and sister accepted the award on his behalf. And can you believe that he doesn't have a beard anymore? Wow.

Venturing Ride
We pedalled 38 miles from Sellwood Riverfront Park, past OMSI and the University of Portland before having lunch at Broughton Beach Trailhead on Marine Drive. From there we headed east to I-205 before going south all the way to Johnson Creek and back to where it began. It was mostly level but the uphill on Greely Road and a few other places were real killers, especially towards the end when our legs were begging for a long, restful break. And the best part? It didn't rain this year, although Mrs. Bartos swears she felt a few raindrops :-)
