Job Description: 1) Sells supplies such as: general hardware, safety supplies, janitorial, chemicals, paint, nuts/bolts, hand-and-power tools, electrical supplies, plumbing supplies, and steel: Advises customer on tools, hardware, and materials needed, and procedure to follow to complete task customer wishes to perform. Checks out customer on computer system (accepts cash/checks/credit cards). 2) Performs related duties, such as cutting steel, pulling orders, and delivering to customer if needed. 3) Performs other duties as such as checking in new stock, stocking shelves, organizing stock on shelves, inventory counts, general cleaning. Requirements: 1) Driver's license and means of transportation to work. 2) Pass drug screen 3) Be able to lift 25lbs on a regular basis, heavier occasionally. 4) Be able to walk continually on cement floors and be exposed to hot and cold temperatures as the weather changes. 5) Be able learn quickly a computer program (not just be able to "surf the web") 6) Be proficient in basic math. (adding, subtracting) (know what a fraction is) Able to use a calculator. Assets: 1) Having prior knowledge of what basic supplies are. Know what a ball valve is. Know the difference between PVC and CPVC. etc... 2) Know how to read a tape ruler and measure fractions. (1/4" etc....) 3) Know how to use a computer for purposes other than surfing the internet. 4) Being a quick learner for those areas you lack knowledge in. 5) Having a likeable personality in respect to dealing with our customers. 6) Being proactive- not waiting for someone to give you a job, but seeking out things you can do to make the work area better.
