I know this sounds crazy, but with the cold night time temperatures this coming week, and the lack of rainfall, it is a good idea to water your gardens today. Dry soil and freezing conditions damages and kills plants! It makes me a little nervous when I have to water the lavender field in February, but I want to protect the roots!

We are open, and Bless this Mess! With winter temporarily on hold we decided we may as well return to our regular hours, 9 am - 5 pm, Tuesday - Sunday. This is 3 weeks early, but with today’s 75 degree temperature, we think people will want to get out in their gardens. Second, we are in the middle of pulling apart our main retail floor, regrading and putting in new flooring. After 23 years, last years floods and many gophers, the floor has become somewhat uneven and dangerous, so since it is so dry and warm we thought this would be the perfect time to fix it! Anyway for the next 10 days it will be somewhat a mess, however plants for sale will be tucked everywhere so if you are willing to wander you will find plenty of herbs and perennials (no basil yet). And our bare root selection will not stay dormant long with this heat, so be sure to get yours soon!
