Due to website accessibility issues, please see the complete boil water notice issued earlier. Boil Water Notice for the City of Pearland Public Water System (PWS 0200008) January 17, 2018 Due to a major equipment failure at the Kirby Water Production facility, the City of Pearland public water system (PWS 0200008) is required to notify all customers to boil their water prior to consumption (e.g., washing hands/face, brushing teeth, drinking, etc.) The affected areas include all neighborhoods in Pearland west of SH 288. Children, seniors, and persons with weakened immune systems are particularly vulnerable to harmful bacteria, and all customers should follow these directions. To ensure destruction of all harmful bacteria and other microbes, water for drinking, cooking, and ice making should be boiled and cooled prior to use for drinking water or human consumption purposes. The water should be brought to a vigorous rolling boil and then boiled for two minutes. In lieu of boiling, individuals may purchase bottled water or obtain water from some other suitable source for drinking water or human consumption purposes. When it is no longer necessary to boil the water, the City of Pearland water system officials will notify customers that the water is safe for drinking water or human consumption purposes. Once the boil water notice is no longer in effect, the City of Pearland water system will issue a notice to customers that rescinds the boil water notice in a manner similar to this notice. If you have questions concerning this matter, you may contact the City of Pearland Public Works Department at 281.652.1900 or through the City’s Connect2Pearland app.

Great information from Texas Department of Transportation: Sleet, ice and freezing rain can create extremely dangerous driving locations. Drivers are urged to follow these precautions: - Avoid unnecessary travel - If you must drive, drive to conditions. Reduce speed. Speed limits are based on normal road and weather conditions - Use extra caution on bridges, ramps, overpasses and shaded areas as they tend to freeze first. - Watch carefully for personnel and equipment treating roadways, and stay at least 200 feet back from road crews. - If you start to slide, ease off the gas pedal or brakes. Steer into the direction of the skid until you feel you have regained traction, and then straighten your vehicle.
