FOP members from Maryland joined National President Chuck Canterbury at the White House today as President Trump signed two bills into law which benefit law enforcement and the families of our fallen heroes. The Public Safety Officers' Benefits Improvement Act reduces bureaucratic red tape allowing the families of our fallen heroes to receive federal benefits in a more timely fashion. The American Law Enforcement Heroes Act provides funding for law enforcement agencies to recruit and hire military veterans.

It is with Deep Regret that the membership of the Retired Association is notified of the death of Virgie Alston-Rogers step mother of Brother Percy Alston. The below message was received from Brother Alston: I'm heartbroken this morning. My stepmom Virgie Alston-Rodgers passed away today after battling cancer. This was her third bout with this dreaded disease. Virgie was a vibrant and energetic woman with a strong faith in God. We got to celebrate her 80th birthday this past December. I'm so glad I had a chance to spend time with her over the past few months. I'm so sure that she is now able to rest. I'm blessed to have had her in my life. I'll always miss my friend, Virgie.
