Southwest Community Center
Description
Our major focus is our Happy Food Box program. We distribute over 1,000 food boxes per month to those in need within our community. Soon, we hope to expand that program and to also be able to offer additional services to our community. Donate today ! We are committed to the overall health and welfare of our community and want to provide a value to those of our community. We seek to target the needs of the community and provide for those needs. We want to provide services that help families and individuals that are struggling or just desire to better their lives. We will continue to provide valued programs and services targeting certain areas. We want to be a place that safely provides nutrition needs, educates and provides a space to meet for events. This is a place designed to celebrate the community and bring joy to it.

Please join us for our 3rd Annual Santa's Holiday Workshop Event. Each year we keep growing and this is our largest event of the year at Southwest Community Center. Last year we had over 250+ kids and over 200+ adults in attendance. At last count, we were nearly at 500 people in total. You don't want to miss this event!!! There is no entry fee for the event, though we are asking for donations of perishable and non perishable food items for our Happy Food Box program. We distribute food 3 times per week to those in need within our community. Too, around the holidays is when people could use a little help and will need it the most. Once Santa arrives by fire truck, he will be hard at work in his workshop with his elves and giving away toys to each child who attends our event. Santa and his crew also love posing for pictures with the children in his photo booth as well. We will also have a variety of activities including: Cookie and ornament decorating, while sipping on our delicious hot cocoa. The wonderful sounds of Christmas music and carolers will fill the air. We did hear that the weather forecast might be calling for snow.... There will also be a Holiday Craft Fair, as local vendors and businesses will be selling their unique Christmas items. It will be a great opportunity for you to purchase those last minute Christmas gifts. Also, keep an eye out for our local Food Trucks as they will be making their appearance this year!!! Please show them some love as they are working hard to support their families. We will also be giving away gift cards and a few additional surprises during our FREE Holiday Raffle. Last year we gave away over 25+ gift cards to local restaurants, plus donated items and prizes from local businesses, individuals and sponsors. But, we can't spill all the beans just yet!!! You will have to stop by and see us, as we have so much more to share with you and your family!!! After all, tis the season of giving!!! We are also hosting a Toy Drive as well. We will be accepting unwrapped toys from now until December 16th. Each child who attends our event will receive a toy of their choice. Too, we are looking for local churches and businesses who will allow us to set up toy collection bins and to help us collect toys for our event. As always, we need your donations to also help fund our events. Even a small donation goes a long way. If you would like to make a donation, we can provide you with a tax donation receipt!!! Too, we are in need of approximately 25 volunteers to help us with this event. We have a list of volunteer duties available, should you be interested in helping us out. We are also looking for food trucks and vendors as well. Help us help our community!!! Please contact Wendy or Genevieve during regular business hours for our current needs. Thank you!!!
