Last night at the Y's Board of Director's Meeting, four YMCA staff were awarded for their quick action in saving a young man's life earlier this year. Town Councilor and Y Board Member, Esteban Carrasco, presented to (from left to right): Greg Lapierre, Michaela Salviuolo, Jon Ziemba and Dominick Daponte. We are so proud of them!

NEW Active Older Adults Walking Club! Thursdays in May and June from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. The Y offers many fitness programs for active older adults, and with the warmer weather - take advantage of our new AOA Walking Club. Cooking for Seniors on a Budget. FREE 4-week cooking class (no experience needed) at the Casuabon Senior Center on 153 Chestnut Street in Southbridge from 12:30pm - 2:00pm. This Wednesday, May 10 enjoy preparing and eating a ZITI BAKE. Call the Y to reserve your spot at 508-765-5466. Free transportation is also provided by SCM Elderbus. Next class on May 17.

STEP RIGHT UP FOR A BIG TOP CARNIVAL this Sunday, May 7 from 2-4pm. Family Fun for all – enjoy carnival games and activities, moon bounce, crafts and prizes, rock wall climbing, face painting and even a junior carnival in Child Watch. Carnival food will be on sale starting at 1:30pm and the gymnasium will be open at 2pm for events. FREE for Y members, Y daycare families / Non-members $15/family.

Open exclusively for Teens - Grades 6-12. See the hit movie “Guardians of the Galaxy!” on Friday, May 5 from 8:00-10:00 p.m. Spend your Friday night playing basketball, rockwall climbing, swimming, or making new friends. The YMCA offers teens a chance to hang out and have fun in a safe supervised environment. Every month, the activity changes and there’s something new to try! $3 per student. Parent Approval is needed for kids under age 18 to leave before 10:00 p.m. NO re-entry after leaving.
