Finally taking a moment to catch up and reflect on what an incredible GEN IV week it was. To say we are touched and overwhelmed by the generously kind words shared in dozens upon dozens of emails would be an understatement. It certainly makes it all worth it in the end when receiving such love and support from so many. Of the eight years since we began, this year was one of the best by far. From our amazingly talented faculty, made up of the 26 most diverse choreographer/teachers you could ever find in one place, each sharing their wisdom, & passion with close to 600 dedicated dancers from around the world for a full week of classes, culminating in three phenomenal, show-stopping performances~ it was truly a week like no other. Not to mention absolutely perfect weather to top it all off.....Yes, we actually needed sweatshirts at times. Each year we continually try to improve upon the GEN IV experience, making it our mission to provide the most educational and unique learning opportunity available to dancers of all ages from beginners to professionals. It has been through much trial and error that we now have a great system in place to making the week run so smoothly. But of course, that cannot happen without a strong team at our side. It would be nearly impossible to thank each and every person individually but it's important to acknowledge the various roles of which help to make Generation IV Dance the success that it is. Orchestrating this event is a huge undertaking and collaborative effort that goes far beyond just the week itself, with Ted, myself & Lisa Cappello (our right hand through it all) starting the prepping and planning stages 10 months in advance. We commit ourselves to it knowing what a positive impact it makes on all those that attend each summer which is the best reward we could receive. Whether you are first stepping off a flight or onto campus to check in to your dorms, you are immediately greeted and welcomed by our wonderful and loving host families, made up of HSPA staff, and moms, and dads who make themselves available to your children in every way possible throughout the entire week. From our Transportation Team making close to 100 trips to the airport, bus and train terminals, and our Head Dorm chaperones who provide a home away from home atmosphere for those staying on campus, to our nurturing Medical Staff whom provide around the clock care in our GENIV infirmary, backed by our crew of dance dad's and friends of our sons who make themselves available for all the manual labor and tech support needed throughout the week, alongside our dance mom's who supervise and chaperone the classes/rehearsals from 9 AM to 10 PM, as well as our dedicated Dance Dimension sisters who are there for us with love and support at every turn. And let's not forget about our friendly GEN IV merchandise team who keep you coming back, wanting more and looking good. Just the best assembled on-site team you could ever ask for! That's not to mention our separate crew that assists our faculty who stay at the HSPA Studios for the week, serving as Faculty Liasons making sure that all their personal needs are met from communication, to studio maintenance to laundry, our amazing Food Fairies who coordinate and plan their every meal, Chauffeurs getting them back-and-forth to campus for classes and rehearsals on the hour, every hour, and our scheduling director Jen who takes on the complex task of planning out the faculty's daily classes, rehearsals, and placing close to 600 dancers in over 30 show pieces. Last but not least, we couldn't do it without the support, dedication, commitment, and generosity of our immediate family made up of siblings, parents, aunts, uncles, cousins~ The Hackworth's, Anthony's, & the Ashley's, all of whom play such an important role of which we are beyond grateful. This is a true labor of love for all of our family paying respect and homage to four generations of Dance created by our grandfather & mother. It is a legacy we take great pride in. So on behalf of Ted, Teddy, Reilly, Jonny, and myself, we thank EACH & EVERY ONE OF YOU for helping us create and bring such a unique experience to the dance world. We know you are all just as proud of Generation IV Dance as we are and that's what makes it the special week that it is for everyone involved. We could not do this without you. Our hearts are full.......❤️ #GenerationIVDance #alegacyofinspirationforthenextgeneration #allaboutfamily #thegenivexperience #bestteamever

When you have a favorite artist who you love to move and create to, why just upload their music when you can actually bring them in live!!! Yes, here is thee amazing Michelle Brooks Thompson (The Voice~ Team Adam) accompanying all the dancers in Teddy's advanced pro audition class. We only wish we would have captured that initial moment when she first opened her mouth and began to sing as they were to start the choreography. They all literally stopped in their tracks, stunned by her incredible voice and just froze, then applauded and screamed until she finished. Truly an incredible honor to have her not only here for class, but performing live in our three shows next weekend. Thank you Michelle, what a wonderful surprise that was tonight for all of our very fortunate dancers from all over the country. Day 1 Generation IV Dance ✔️👍🏻
