2016 Kismet Summer Camp was a BIG success!!!! All of our campers had a fun-filled, crafty and education packed week of horses!! Thank you Shannon Pierce-Elkins for taking pictures while we were busy having fun!!! Also thank you to our counselors who helped make camp a success! Our Activities Included-- · LOTS of Horseback Riding-- Voted the BEST part of camp!!!!! · Colors and Markings--We were sure to review all markings on our own lesson horses which left them as toilet papered mummies! · Parts of the Horse--Lesson horses Joey and Morley were excellent models for the labeling parts of the horse competition! · Parts of Tack-- Including a tour of Shelby Horse Supply. Thank you Shelby Horse Supply for the intriguing tour by Vance and Sabra! · Body Language-- While observing body language, campers painted designs on and then bathed our patient horses Cabby, Morley and Magic! · Natural and Artificial Riding Aids & Pattern Work-- Each camper wrote their own pattern on Wednesday and performed them seamlessly on Friday for the other campers! · Junior Judging at Shelby County Fair-- Campers wore their own tie-dye t-shirts! We had some very dedicated Junior Judges who stuck with it until the very end, even through the storms! Thank you Sandy Backer and Beth Snider for all of your hard work in coordinating Junior Judging at the Shelby County Fair Horse Show. · Nutrition & Equine Digestive System-- It was a sticky mess, but all of the horses were able to enjoy handmade horse treats! Come join in the FUN and learning at our future camps and clinics! Dates TBA. "What we learn with pleasure, we never forget." Alfred Mercier
