Baltimore's Washington Monument is the first monument to honor America's First President. The Washington Monument, the first in the United States to honor America's first president, just celebrated it Bicentennial on July 4, 2015 after a 6 million dollar award-winning restoration by the Mount Vernon Place Conservancy. Visit our website to learn more visitation details. The gallery is free, but there is a fee to climb to the lookout ($6 for adults, $4 for children 13 & under) to have amazing views of the city. Yesterday's beautiful weather brought hundreds of folks out to visit the Washington Monument--so many that every climb spot was booked all day long! With your Monument visitation sticker you can get half priced admission at the nearby Maryland Historical Society to see all the exhibits, including the Monument's two time capsules--they will be on display for only several more months.

The Conservancy is pleased to be part of 3-5-7 this Friday. The Monument will be open on our Friday winter hours of 11-3, but the climb is at a discounted rate! 5$ for the first ticket and 3$ for the 2nd.

Summer in Mount Vernon Place. The Monument is open summer hours Wed. 2-9, Thurs.-Sun. 10-5. You can book your climb in advance on the Conservancy's website--there's a great view from the lookout at the top.

In preparation for reopening the Washington Monument on July 4, 2015, a year ago today the Conservancy was booting up the Monument's new interactive touchtables with stunning visuals providing a tour of the Monument's interior and exterior. The work of MFM and Cortina productions, they have since won preservation awards for excellence--check them out at the Monument or on our website.
