Opener in the Park

You are invited to join several Sauk Rapids area businesses as they kick off Minnesota’s Fishing Opener with Opener in the Park on Saturday, May 13th. Come out to the promenade between Southside and Lions Park in Sauk Rapids from 11am to 4pm on Saturday for food, fun, and perhaps even some fishing! There will be a food court featuring a variety of dining options, including Urban Lodge Brewery & Restaurant, Old Capital Tavern, Manea’s Meats, and Mix’in It Up Bakery. Beer and bar items will also be available from Urban Lodge Brewery & Restaurant and Old Capital Tavern. Possible appearances are anticipated from former Vikings and MN Wild players as well as Mrs. Minnesota 2017 and other State and local representatives. This area of the Mississippi River is great for shore fishing. Guests of the Opener in the Park are encouraged to bring their fishing gear down to the river to try their hand at catching the big one from the shoreline. Shore fishing stations will also tentatively be set up for those interested in learning more about the sport. Come join the Sauk Rapids community as they celebrate the official kickoff to summer in Minnesota – the 2017 Minnesota Fishing Opener. Free parking is available for all attendees.
