It’s been non-stop work and practise for the representing act of Monaghan, The World Upside Down, and their team in the days leading up to their big performance. Not only do they have to practise and perfect their two songs for National Day, they have also been hard at work preparing a number of cover songs for their fundraiser/open mic night of Friday the 23rd of March. Some of them would say that getting the band to agree on what songs to cover was actually harder than learning the songs themselves (having a lot of different influences isn’t always a good thing!). As well as the songs everyone has been hard at work getting the word out about the fundraiser, preparing the youth café for the night, baking some treats which will be on sale and they’ve even been designing some of their own merchandise like T-shirts, hats and badges. If you follow The World Upside Down on their social medias, you will also have noticed that our media and image team have passionately been working on them, constantly getting the band members out for photo shoots and documenting their progress with the competition. The band would like to acknowledge the huge support that has been shown to them and those around them. It means a lot to them that their work isn’t going unnoticed and they appreciate all of the positive comments and feedback. Do you want to present at the Irish Youth Music Awards 2018 – National Day If so read on.... ***DEADLINE MARCH 26*** If you are aged between twelve and nineteen all you need to do is record a short video on your phone, laptop or camera and email it to us covering the following: 1. Tell us your name and what youth service you are part of 2. Tell us what the Irish Youth Music Awards means to you 3. Tell us why you want to present Youth Work Ireland's Irish Youth Music Awards No experience is necessary, just an ability to communicate with an audience, and a commitment to present the Irish Youth Music Awards on Saturday April 21st 2018 in Croke Park. If you want to get involved, simply send a link to a short audition video to iymas@youthworkireland.ie by Monday March 26th at 10am.
