UPDATE: Oren J. Sofer will be teaching tonight. Oren has practiced meditation in the Theravada Buddhist tradition since 1997, beginning his studies in Bodh Gaya, India with Anagarika Munindra and Godwin Samararatne. He is a long-time student of Joseph Goldstein, Michele McDonald, and Ajahn Sucitto, and a graduate of the IMS – Spirit Rock Vipassana Teacher Training program. Oren’s work is also informed by his professional training in Somatic Experiencing (SE) for healing trauma, his personal practice of Qi Gong and Hannah Somatics. Oren currently works as Senior Program Developer at Mindful Schools. http://www.orenjaysofer.com/
We're excited to have John Bruna teaching tomorrow night, followed by a book signing for his new book "The Wisdom of a Meaningful Life". Here's a bit about John: John Bruna is an educator, counselor, and mindfulness and Dharma teacher. John's personal story is a powerful example of the transformation of the human spirit. Rising from homelessness and addiction, in 1984, at the age of 22, John began his journey of redemption and recovery. In 2005, he was an ordained and spent over 6 years as a Buddhist monk. John has received numerous teachings, empowerments and permissions within the Gelug Tradition of Tibetan Buddhism.
