We will be working on the access trail into the Mission Trails Park BMX area located off the Deerfield BMX loop. This ongoing project consists of rehabilitating an existing 12' wide washed out access road and turning it into a safe, sustainable and flowy trail into the BMX area so that both bikers and hikers have an enjoyable and safe route up & down. We'll meet at the Deerfield circle cul de sac (just west of the Jackson dr parking lot on mission gorge road). Please RSVP so that we know how many tools to bring.

Free Concert featuring San Diego Mesa College World Music Ensemble at 3:00pm on Sunday, November 5, 2017 Location: Visitor Center Theater The Mission Trails Regional Park Foundation invites the public to enjoy Sunday afternoon listening to the San Diego Mesa College World Music Ensemble, directed by Dr. N. Scott Robinson, will perform a program of traditional music from Uganda on the amadinda xylophone, traditional songs from Central Africa, and an original composition for Middle Eastern frame drums. This Sunday, October 15th, at 3:00 pm, The Queen Calafia Ensemble will perform Renaissance music at the Mission Trails Regional Park Visitor Center! Named for the mythical Amazon Queen of California (created by the writer Rodriguez de Montalvo in 1500), this group will present new arrangements of music written in the 111 years that began with the journeys of Columbus, and ended with the death of Elizabeth I. The program will feature new arrangements of the music of Luys de Narvaez, Adrien Le Roy, Thomas Tallis, and others. Jeff Pekarek, classical guitar Beatriz Basile, percussion Francesca Savage, viola David Savage, bassoon Natasha Kozaily, keyboard The MTRP Foundation presents free concerts on scheduled Sundays. All concerts begin at 3:00 p.m. and are held in the Visitor Center Theater (limited seating of 93 capacity). Schedule is subject to change.

Do you want a chance to see some wildlife (This picture of a Northern Harrier was photographed by Park Volunteer David Cooksy)? Join Ranger Andrew Miller this Sunday at 8:00 a.m. at the West Sycamore Staging Area (Very east end of Stonebridge Parkway) for a 90 minute guided nature walk. He will focus on the plant communities and animals commonly found at West Sycamore. Please wear comfortable shoes, a hat and bring bottled water.
