Are your children playing Pokemon Go? We just want you and your family to be safe! There have been reports of children being lured to stops and being abused. So what can you do to keep your kids safe? Larger agencies recommend that parents check out the Social Preference Caps (the settings which can allow parents to set limits on both the chat and trade functions). Make sure that the location services are turned off when the game is not being used, and consider turning off location services for other apps like Instagram, Snapchat, Twitter, and Facebook. My awesome staff came together today to volunteer at Rowan Helping Ministries and prepare and serve lunch to 150 homeless adults and children in need. I was so proud! We were happy to help!
We are hiring for our Nurturing Parenting Program! If interested, please call Anna at 704-431-2015 Child Group Facilitator Lead Employer: Prevent Child Abuse Rowan Location: 130 Woodson St., Salisbury, NC 28144 Reports to: Executive Director The Nurturing Parenting Program is an evidence-based program, which works to provide parenting skills for parents who have been identified as at-risk for potential neglect or abuse. The program will be administered to parents and their children ages 0-5. The program will be conducted in conjunction with Smart Start Rowan. Essential Duties and Responsibilities (other duties as assigned) · Assist in leading the weekly group sessions of 10-15 children under the Nurturing Parenting curriculum Education/Work Requirements · Must have a high school diploma. · Must have experience with managing, leading, and teaching groups of children. Qualifications · Bilingual (Spanish) desired. · Previous experience conducting support group presentations desired. · Knowledge of the dynamics of child abuse and neglect. · Verbal communication skills to assist in leading child educational groups. · Ability to be flexible, especially in terms of non-traditional working hours. · Exceptional energy, relational and interpersonal skills · Ability to communicate well with people at all levels, especially young children.

We have an awesome program for you! 13 weeks of fabulous knowledge on how to nurture your little one - there is definitely no handbook for parenting so we try to provide as much information possible! We cover discipline, communication, helping children express their feelings, strategies for building self worth and personal power. If interested, please call Anna at 704-431-2015 to register! Classes start Sept. 1, 2016, spaces are limited so register ASAP!
Who doesn’t love cute, cuddly babies? Would you like to volunteer to hold sweet babies and nurture them while their parents are learning skills to improve their parenting? Our awesome new bracelets have arrived to give out to all of the students we teach with the Stop-Go-Tell prevention program! This year we taught over 5,000 students and empowered them with the skills to prevent cycles of abuse! Prevention is the key to ending child abuse!

Last night the state budget was released and $793,000 has been appropriated to CAC's in NC and marked as recurring funds. Thank your North Carolina Senators and Representatives, this is huge for us!
