Create functional clay wares for your kitchen! This 2-part workshop focuses on handbuilding techniques including pinch, coil, slab, and pattern making to build usable ceramics. Experiment with surface texture, design, and glaze and take home multiple unique and special treasures. All materials included. Perfect for beginners to advanced age 12+. Learn the essentials of drawing with charcoal! Using still lifes as the subject, students practice techniques including, line, contour, subtractive drawing to build foundational skills. Start with loose and simple sketches to warm up hand-eye coordination, and move onto layering tones to achieve depth and visual interest. Join us for an introduction to documentary photography! Learn how to create compelling images for creative storytelling using your unique perspective. Participants will talk about photography, tools, and travel around the Imperial Centre’s campus creating art in their own backyard! Students are responsible for providing their own camera (point and shoot, DSLR, cell phone) and lunch. Designed for all levels, develop the skill of creating what you see! Students focus on building strong compositions through still life and figure study.
