facebook.comOur winter oats planted over Christmas and New Years sprouted real nice in that warm rain last week.
Finally finished planting fall/winter grain. Here D2 is helping get legume cover crop planted in next year's pumpkin patch. Got it all done with minutes to spare before the rain. Perfectly timed.
Redding Lighted Christmas Parade this evening with Shasta Guide Dogs puppy raisers as guest riders. A really fun evening at the parade.
We were at the Palo Cedro Christmas Festival with our train last night (practicing for the Redding Lighted Christmas Parade tonight). Last nigh'ts event was a great success for Palo Cedro, a lot of people having a good time getting into the season. Tonight's parade will be equally fun, and no rain. OK maybe a drop or two before, maybe after, but the parade time will be dry and clear (my forecast)!
This is the rewarding part of the school field trips. Thanks to all the schools that came out to visit us during October.
Little Heather in her Dumbo costume successfully negotiated the corn maze with Mom and Dad tonight on Halloween. And that pretty much brings the 2017 pumpkin patch season to a great close.
Last school field trip of the season yesterday. There are still a few pumpkins left but pickings are getting pretty slim. The CORN MAZE will be open tonight for Halloween. Treats for kids in costume. No charge for the kids mini maze. Open till 10:00.
We have a couple of found items that are probably pretty important to somebody. Come out to the pumpkin shed to claim or call to arrange a time to pick up.
Looks like a little dust control tomorrow night into low winds for the weekend (finally). Should be a great weekend to come get yer gourds. Don't wait until the last minute, as you never know what nature will throw at us.
The most asked question we've been getting is about the tractor show and pulls. This year it's October 14-15. That said, most have started packing up Sunday morning so if it's a point to see all of them, come Saturday.
Unfortunately, due to the high winds, the bounce house and laser tag will likely not be set up today. Everything else is open for business!
Kudos to Redding Sunrise Rotary for the best yet Nash Ranch Mud Mash . And recognition to all the rotarians, volunteers and sponsors that made it happen !
