Our own Jeremy Koren, Emergency Disaster Services Coordinator, is currently in Texas assisting with flood relief from the recent hurricanes that have ravaged the south. Here is the latest update from Jeremy. "Day 2 saw the current incident command team transfer command to us. [We] said farewell to Jim Daly, the outgoing incident commander, a very knowledgeable man that I worked under during the St. Louis Floods in January 2016. I learned yesterday that he was a big reason I wound up in Victoria, [Texas]. The highlight of the day was when we helped out some women who lost pretty much everything by giving them water, Gatorade and cleanup kits. They were so grateful that when I borrowed their pen they said I could keep it."

Quincy Salvation Army Emergency Disaster Services Coordinator, Jeremy Koren, has made it safely to Texas, where he will begin assisting in the coordination of flood relief from the recent hurricanes that have ravaged the south. From Jeremy: "After arriving in Victoria, Texas, we hit the ground running as the current incident command team started to catch us up to speed. We are currently running 6 mobile feeding units (or canteens) serving about 900 meals a day in a three county area. We ended the day sharing a meal together." We thank Jeremy for representing the tri-states as The Salvation Army continues to assist those affected by these natural disasters.
