Description
The mission of the Royal Oak Public Library is to be an informational, intellectual, cultural and recreational resource for all people. In the downtown business district, the Royal Oak Public Library is located in southern Royal Oak, near the corner of Eleven Mile and Main Street. Its front door, on the south side, opens across the green from city hall and the police station. It is easily accessible from several principal routes including Woodward Avenue, I-75 and I-696.

facebook.comOur first Sensory Play session for ages birth - 3 years, will be held Saturday, January 27, 10:15 AM - 12:00 PM. Sensory experiences are incredibly important for babies and toddlers as they learn and grow, and ROPL is proud to now offer sensory-based play time. Children from birth to three years are invited to play and explore with various sensory activities, toys, and textures in and around the room. It is a great opportunity for children and parents to interact, as well. Drop in and play! Parking is free in the Farmers Market lot until 1:00 PM on Saturdays. NO REGISTRATION REQUIRED.

Intro to Robotics: Make It Blink, ages 7 - 12, Wednesday, January 24, 6:30 - 8:00 PM. Led by members of DIY workshop i3detroit, participants will learn to solder and use the platform Arduino to make an LED badge that really blinks. I Spy, ages 7 -11, Tuesday, January 23, at 7:00 PM. I spy with my little eye… Come and enjoy some search and find activities at the library. Read to Dogs for Independent Readers, Saturday, January 20, 10:30 AM to 12:10 PM. Registered therapy dogs are here to listen to children read to them in a one-on-one setting.
